Rebooking and postponed
Die letzten Monate waren schwierig und sehr arbeitsintensiv für Léa und Alfonso. Der administrative Aufwand stieg ins Unermessliche. Und es bleibt schwierig, auch für 2021. Viele Gigs mussten verschoben werden und dies mehrmals. Das Mascotte hat wieder geöffnet und die Menschen kommen auch wieder. Es ist jedoch sehr aufwändig mit Schutzkonzept, Tracing und langen Check-ins. Fazit: ein grosser Organisationsaufwand. Léa ergänzt zudem, dass sie keine Gesundheits- oder Sicherheitsspezialist*innen seinen, sondern Veranstalter*innen.
Im Plaza gab es zudem einen Covid-Fall, was zu einem massiven Publikumsschwund geführt hat. „Wir wollten nach dem Lockdown nicht so schnell öffnen, wurden aber durch die Lockerungen fast gezwungen dazu“, meint Alfonso. Die Fake News vom BAG waren zudem verheerend für die Clubszene.
Das Fri-Son ging ab Ende Mai sowieso in die Sommerpause. Die verschiedenen Veranstalter*innen aus dem ganzen Kanton Fribourg haben sich aufgrund der Situation zusammengetan und ein «Re-Festival» (Festival des Festival Perdu) auf die Beine gestellt. Dies war ein Erfolg. Durch die Subventionen dafür konnten auch die Musiker*innen, Techniker*innen etc. gut entlöhnt werden. Dies war eines der Ziele.
Jeder Rappen zählt
Die veranstalteten Partys haben finanziell etwas geholfen, zudem konnten alle auch endlich wieder arbeiten. Aber die Zukunft ist unsicher. Kommt es zu einer zweiten Welle? Kommt es wieder zu Schliessungen? Wird die 1000-er Grenze aufgehoben? Internationale Bands werden wohl nicht spielen können, weil keine Tours möglich sind. Beide konnten für ihre Clubs Kurzarbeit geltend machen, dies jedoch nur noch bis September. Die Frage ist nun, ob es sich mit einer Kapazität von 300 überhaupt lohnt, ein Konzert zu veranstalten und ob die Menschen auch wieder drinnen Konzerte besuchen wollen: die Angst vor einer Ansteckung oder anschliessender Quarantäne ist nach wie vor spürbar.
Die jungen Menschen werden in ihrem Ausgehverhalten gebremst, vielleicht vergessen sie sogar das Clubbing. Interessant ist, dass in Fribourg die Studierenden sehr ausgehfreudig sind im Gegensatz zu Zürich.
Die Situation ist für beide sehr hart, ermüdend und auch existenziell. Alfonso sagt: „Es müssen Menschen entlassen werden und das sind Freund*Innen, die danach arbeitslos sein werden.“
1 Stimme für alle
Beide würden sich eine einzige Stimme für die ganze Musikszene auf dem politischen, medialen Parkett wünschen, so wie z.B. Gastrosuisse. So könnte entsprechendes Lobbying gemacht werden. Eine Stimme die sich nicht nur die eigenen Belange kümmert, sondern ein unabhängiges Gremium, welches alle relevanten Gruppierungen integriert und für einfach alle die mit Livemusik was zu tun haben sprechen (Musiker, Veranstalter, Agenturen, Venues, Plattenlabels etc).
Wir wünschen uns...
- Dass es hoffentlich bald vorbei ist, auf der ganzen Welt. Und dann: That we can one day forget everything and just enjoy the music
- Die Chance für Schweizer Künstler*innen nutzen
- Gemeinsam reflektieren, überdenken und analysieren
- Sich über den Röstigraben auszutauschen und zu vernetzen.

The last months have been difficult and very labour intensive for Léa and Alfonso. The administrative workload has been immense. And it will remain difficult, even for 2021. Many gigs had to be postponed several times. The Mascotte reopened and people are coming back. But it is very complex with the protection concept, tracing and long check-ins. Conclusion: a big organizational effort. Léa adds that she is not a health or safety specialist, but an organizer.
There was also a Covid case in the Plaza, which led to a massive loss of audience. "We didn't want to open so quickly after the lockdown, but were almost forced to do so by the loosening of the regulations," says Alfonso. The fake news from the BAG was also devastating for the club scene.
Fri-Son anyways went into summer break at the end of May. The various organisers* from all over the canton of Fribourg got together because of the situation and set up a "re-festival" (Festival des Festival Perdu). This was a success. Thanks to the subsidies, the musicians, technicians, etc. were also well paid. This was one of the main goals.
Every „Rappen“ counts
The parties helped a little bit financially, and moreover, everyone could finally work again. But the future is uncertain. Will there be a second wave? Will we have to close up again? Will the 1,000 mark be lifted? International bands will probably not be able to play because tours are not possible. Both of them could claim short-time work for their clubs, but only until September. The question now is whether it is even worthwhile to hold a concert with a capacity of 300 and whether people want to attend concerts inside again: the fear of infection or subsequent quarantine is still very present.
The young people are reluctant with going out, perhaps they will even forget about clubbing. It is interesting to note that in Fribourg students are very fond of going out, unlike in Zurich.
The situation is very hard, tiring and existential for both. Alfonso says: "People have to be laid off and these are friends* who will be unemployed afterwards."

Both would like to have a single voice for the whole musicscene on the political and medial parquet, like Gastrosuisse, for example. This is how appropriate lobbying should be done. A voice that not only takes care of its own interests, but also an independent body that integrates all relevant groups and speaks for everyone involved in live music (musicians, promoters, agencies, venues, record labels etc).
We wish...
- That it will hopefully be over over soon, all over the world. And then: That we can one day forget everything and just enjoy music

- To exchange and network across the Röstigraben.
